I'm in... I cast on for these this morning, and I'm two inches down my first one... I'm using some Knit Picks Dye-Your-Own sock yarn that I kool-aid-ed on my summer vacation...
Here's the yarn....
I'll post a pic of my sock when I get to my digicam...

OH NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
if worse comes to worse, you can use a solid color to fill in the toe on both (though you'd have to undo the other one a little bit
) and it will look intentional.
I'm so bummed for you!! crap like that happens to me a lot -- bad measuring on my part
*wishful thinking*

Oh Juniper that's terrible!
I'm making mine in Sock Garden Hydrangea. I'm using size 0 addis for the ribbing and the sole, and size 1 addis for the pattern. I'm doing the 84 stitch version - I wear a size 9.5 shoe. This pattern had been giving me a lot of gas, but finally it seem to be coming together. Plus I think the sole being worked on size 0 will really help with the durability of the socks. If these come out as nice as I think, I will probably make another pair in my Sock Garden Stargazer Lily.

Okay, yes, I could easily make the toe of each one solid, but the only other sock yarn I already own is charcoal grey. It does not match my existing colourway at All. Now, I'd normally just go out and buy a new ball of sock yarn, but I've made a resolution involving yarn and not purchasing and, well, I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about.
This fucking sucks.

Can anyone help me? I've started my jaywalkers twice now and ripped them out twice
They were too small! now... I measured my foot - I think properly? I measured the circumference of the thickest part of my foot, the arch... and got 8.5 inches. I had started with the 8inch size and so I ripped and started again with the 9inch size. A friend of mine is knitting these too and she advised me to try them on as I go because hers were way too tight and she will have to start over too... so with about 3.5 inches done I tried them on... and I couldn't even get it past my heel!!
so I ripped again... and this time I decided to actually do a swatch and test guage... well I did a swatch in st stockinette and I'm RIGHT ON guage! So what's going on here? If I'm on guage and I'm following the larger pattern than the measurement I have, why do they not even go past my heel?
We are lost as to what to do. I am using knitpicks sockgarden yarn and size 1 dpn's. My shoe size is a size 8. can anyone help?
