my birthday was a few days ago and my mom took me out yarn shopping... woo! my goal was to get the materials and  learn how to knit socks. these were made with cascade 220 and size 5 dpns. I'm so excited, I cant wait to finish the second one and wear them!

Those are great! but won't the Cascade 220 felt when you wash it?

well, my plan is to knit up a test swatch and wash it. if it gets ruined then ill have to hand wash them or something. haha.

yea, dpns are really fun. they weren't hard at all, for the most part you're just going round and round in plain knit stitch. i think i'll try some small cables on my next pair.

I love to knit socks too.  It's just you have to do two.  I'm making the rib and cable socks from Interweave Knits Fall '05 and they are pretty cute so far.  It's taken me awhile but I'm almost done with the first one.  I've been sick and not able to knit for about a week...or two.
