Freakin fantastic job!  What are the boxes / where in the craft store are they?  Ditto for the covering.

I really dig your other pieces as well, but this is by far my fav!  Beautiful!

Knitter -

I get them at Michael's...if you go to the area where they keep the other paper mache boxes and decoupage stuff, that's where they are. I've noticed from trolling around several Michael's here that not all of the stores carry them.

The tissue on this one is mulberry tissue paper that I got at Cost Plus/World Market in the gift wrap section.

Thanks!

Sweet, thank you.  My nephew really enjoys carrying around tiny objects in tiny boxes (been doing it since he was around 3), everywhere he goes.  Seriously.  It's funny as hell.  I think I'll make a little treasure box for him.

Man, I'm so bad about posting the details! I've done enough of them by now that you'd think I'd
have it down!

Here goes...it is about 2.5 inches tall by 2 inches wide by about .5 inch deep. The box is a little paper
mache book shaped thing I get a Michael's
. I decoupaged some mulberry tissue paper on it...I'm learning
that with light colors, I have to use several layers to get decent coverage & color. I used a gold paint pen to highlight the edges. These generally take anywhere from and hour to an hour & a half to make, depending on what all goes into it and what kind of finishing I'm using on the cover.

The pic of Mary is from a saint (?) card that I found on eBay. I just trimmed it out with some fancy scissors and then embossed the edges with gold embossing powder.

On the inside, the cross is a little wooden thing that I just painted. The sunburst thing is, well, I'm not sure what its intended purpose is...behind the heart is a hole so that you could attach it to something...the roses are just little paper ones I got in the scrapbook section.

Check out my blog for easy access to all of the pieces I've done so far. There is also a pic on there of one of the boxes next to a quarter so you can see how big (or small) they are.
I predict there will be a run on those little books at Michaels. Great inspiration !

If you are in the StL metro area, don't plan on finding any...I tend to buy them out as soon as they restock!
