• If your birthday is in January, please think of a list of things that you would want to receive.  The more you think of, the better.  The last wish you will post is "a surprise."  Then you will post a bio about yourself, including where you are from and what your birthday is.  As soon as you've decided, PM me with your information.
• Once I PM you and let you know you have been approved, you may post you list and bio on this thread.  Please post lists only.  No discussion on this thread please
• Everyone will then go through the lists and choose a craftster they want to send a birthday gift to.  Your birthday does not have to be in January for you to craft for someone.  If you want to choose someone, just PM me with your info (including your address, please), who you want to craft for, and what item, and I will send you their address.
• If you chose to craft for someone, you have 2 weeks to get the item out the door.  If two weeks pass, and I don't hear anything from you…you guessed it, negative feedback!
• Each person can be chosen unlimited times!  HERE'S THE CATCH- if you get chosen, you must send the person who crafted for you a thank you note in the mail.  You will get negative feedback if you do not send a thank you note (it can be a postcard even).  I think this is a fair trade for all the crafty goodness you'll be getting!
• It is super important for everyone to keep good communication.  When you send, let me know, and of course, don't forget the DC#.  When you receive, let me know and publically announce in the gallery (even if you don't have pictures).  Also, let me know when you send off your thank you note (no DC# required, your on your honor!).

Happy Birthday January Babies!

My birthday is the 9th-O-January!  I will soon be 27 years old...which I think is swell...i like that 27 is a prime number (i am a nerd, i know).  I live in Portland, Oregon.  I am a modern day hippie girl. i love vintage and retro-y things.  My favorite colours are earthy tones...I love greens, browns, reds, oranges and yellows.  i like anything nature-y themed.  I love to knit and love learning to sew.  I am a coffee addict, i have three chickens, i love my scooter, and I am in nursing school!  I love to laugh...and i have the sense of humor to prove it!   

heres my birthday wishlist!

1.  A BIRTHDAY SUPRISE!

2.  4 smallish bumper stickers for mine and three of my friends scooters...we have officially named our four member scooter gang the "Motor 'Cooters!"---our theme colors are red black and white!

3.  an ipod cozy!

4.  some sort of sewn or reconned shirt or hoodie!  just not too low cut...(if you do the hoodie, it would be really kewl if it was medical or nurse themed somehow)

5.  vintage/retro or vintage/retro inspired fabric or findings to craft with!

6.  a journal to keep track of my swap info in! 

7.  yarn...can be any type of yarn...but i really despise fun fur!   

8.  a fun pin cushion that doesnt want to fall over whenever you stick pins into it!  (there is a really cute cactus pin cushion somewhere around here!)

BIO:
I am a 'young' 34 (well, will be 34 on Jan 11th or course!) mom, married with two babies (2 1/2 yo girl, and 16 month boy). Two dogs; black pug, brindle Staffordshire bull terrier. I love Martha Stewart (even more so now that she's been to jail!), love to cook and love to eat. Not super girly, but I am domestic, and I LOVED that civil war costume dress that was posted recently. Been a hippy, been a punk rocker, never been into country. Love crocheting anything, like to learn more than knitting a square, love to try working with resins. I taught skiing and snowboarding for MANY years (took the last three seasons off with babies). Love the snow, love the beach, live just east of Seattle Washington. Listen to Punk rock and Christian music! Been around the block, but like to stay close to home now-a-days! Not too into raunchy stuff, not afraid to be unique. Don't look too good in muted tones or pastel, I'm more of a jewel tone/winter. I play the hand drums, own 5 different types. Love crafty people and crafts, and craft fairs, and crafting, and did I mention I love to craft!?!?!

I'm a girly-girl in my late 30s, live in Florida, and hate it here except for the beach and the weather. (And the vegetation. I love hibiscus plants!) I'm an embroidery freak - I whipped out no fewer than 5 embroidered items during the Christmas break. I also make pillows - usually out of old clothes I can no longer wear! I'm a thrifting addict and am planning to write a book on the subject (someone called me an expert!). My "real" job is in professional sports full-time but my heart lies in writing, vintage fashion, photography, music and pop culture. A bit of a blog nut - I have about 4 or 5 different blogs. I wish for 2006 is that someone would teach me how to knit and crochet.  I wear dark colors, love film noir, want to visit England again and am nuts about Cuban/Spanish food.

Today is my birthday, I got approved today.  Here is my list, or all I can think of with this terrible cold (not thinking so good today) anyway....

I recently thought of something else, during a very restless night, that I would love to have.  An eye pillow.  One with relaxing herbs like flax seed and lavender (you know what I mean).  a Red satin fabric or something.  Something soft and soothing and comfortable. 

Modified because earlier I forgot to say anything about myself.  I am a 43, as of yesterday, mother of 5.  4 at home, 2 teens and 1 preteen, one grandson and one on the way.  I love goats and collect them, yes even live ones, I also like hummingbirds, favorite flower is iris, favorite color is black, but like lots of color as well.  We have lots of pets, from of course goats, to dogs to reptiles and new addition hamster, etc.  I love musicals of all kinds, I am a Christian, run a discipleship center (sort of rehab but different), and mostly my life is my kids and my new found addiction "craftster".

Hey Craftsters,

I'll be celebrating my 26th birthday on Jan 18.  I'm past the midpoint between 20 and 30    Somehow I never thought I'd get to be this old...not that I thought I would die or anything, I just remember being young and naive and don't remember all those years passing.  I'm in my 4th year of Nursing school and will graduate this spring with a bachelor of science in nursing.  I own a Honda Jazz/Metropolitan scooter.  I have two cats and am thinking of getting a hedgehog.  I am moving Feb 1, but don't worry about shipping...if your wonderful birthday gift hasn't arrived by the time I've moved, the post office will forward it for me    I love doing crafts and wish I had more time in which to do them.  I live in Victoria, BC, Canada.  My birthday wishlist is as follows:

I'll be 21 on the 20th and I'm so excited.  I live in the north west of England and work as an assistant manager in a video shop.  I like listening to metal & rock music.  Some of my favourite bands are Breed 77, Killswitch Engage, Sevendust, Dry Kill Logic, Trivium, Avenged Sevenfold plus many, many more.  I'm obsessed with cows, especially if they are purple and fluffy.  I try to watch films when I can but I rarely have the time to.  Some of my favourites are Spirited Away, Ichi the Killer, Zatoichi, Phone, The Returner, The Tube. 
Other things I like are stars, polka dots, thick stripes.
My favourite colours are black, red, pink, purple and bright blue.  I especially like black combined with red and bright pink.
I'm starting to fall in love with animal prints - cow, tiger, leopard, zebra etc.

1 - A top that could ether wear during the day or for a night out.

2 - A casual skirt or pair of trousers.  Something that I would be comfortable wearing around the house and for a day out shopping.  The skirt would ideally need to be below the knee - the longer the better.  If you choose trousers, I like the styles that are loose at the bottom but not too wide.  I have lots of flare-ish pants already.  I would them to be a plain material in a dark colour (except brown, grey or green) with a little bit of embellishment.

3 - A bag.  Either:  a) a fairly large bag for work in a funky design and material.
                OR       b) a simple and smallish bag (big enough for the essentials) which I could use for a night out.  I would prefer it in black perhaps with some sparkly, lacey or other girly embellishments.  I'd like the sort with a short strap so that it sits under my arm at about elbow height.


4 - Either:  a) A snuggly woolly jumper in black (casual but a bit smart looking so I can wear it to work)  I can't find a good picture, but I'd love an off the shoulder jumper
    OR        b) A stencilled/embroidered hooded jumper.  Something unique/funky or with the name of one of my favourite bands on it (see above) and maybe some artwork from one of the album covers.


5 - Some leg warmers/socks - not too bulky so that I can wear them under my work trousers during the walk to and from work.  These could be any colour as long as its bright  =)

8 - A guide on how to make beads with polymer clay.  I already have lots of the clay but would like some inspiration/instructions to teach me how to make beads.  A couple of samples/pictures included would be brilliant.

10 - Jewellery making supplies:  Glass beads(except seed beads), metal/funky plastic charms, metal beads and spacers, chain - anything along these lines which you have spare.

11 - An earring holder.  I have too many pairs so I need somewhere to store them.  Something that I can hang on the wall or stand on my desk.
