I am SO happy!

I designed and made a purse last night, and I'm really proud of the way it turned out.  (I'll post pics later today)  I wasn't sure I could part with it, because it's my favorite so far.  So, I carried it to work with me, and I went over to visit a male friend of mine whose opinion is always honest.  He didn't say anything for a minute, and handed it back to me.  So here's where I think "uh oh..." Then he says "How much?"  I told him I wasn't sure, as I hadn't figured it out last night, I went right to bed.  "Come on, gimme a ball park" So, okay, "$20"  He turns around, and I'm thinking "here it comes"  that I'm charging too much for my crappy handiwork, etc.  He pulls out 2 $20's and orders two for his granddaughters!  On my way (skipping, of course) back to my desk, I stopped and excitedly told two of my other friends.  They were happy, then told me they want to see available fabrics so they can place thier orders!

ACK!  I'm making a sample catalog this weekend so that I can catch those orders! Smiley

Ok, I'll post pics tonight...I'm just so proud, I could burst!!!!

Okay, so now here's the pics.  I know most probably aren't interested, but I'm damned proud   Grin
*Taps fingers impatiently....awaiting pic upload.....*
Here's the front:

And, the front again:

The bottom, sort of squared, sort of rounded, turned out nice:

The interior, with my label  Grin

Nice shot of the side, I'm really happy with how this turned out - it's a little dark, but that's a D ring...

Here's a full shot (please ignore my hand) with my nice padded handle and all

Thanks for the feedback Smiley  I'm pretty doggoned happy right now! Smiley

I'm really not sure why some can see the pics and others can't...they're hosted on yahoo, and I've noticed that makes a difference for me at work.  I'm glad you like the design.  The handle is simply a tube around some thick upholstory cording.

BTW - for tubes, if you're still turning with your fingers, a pin, whatever....STOP!  I bought a Turn-It-All, and I literally can turn tubes in 5 seconds or less, depending on the length!  Totally worth the 5-8 dollar investment

Grin  Okay, done with the non-paid plug....

Where does one find such a thing?  I HATE, HATE, HATE making straps and handles for my bags specifically because of the turning process.  This sounds like the thing for me!

Your bag is really incredible, and congrats on your first sale.  It's a great feeling, isn't it?

And hoping for an early death you swam so far you lost your breath, and struggling in the ebb and flow I took your hand, but you let go...
And now the ocean fills your lungs, and now you've got what you had come for, resting peaceful as you sink to drown under a sea of strangers.
