List of organizations that need craft supplies

There are lots of local places would love to have your un-wanted/un-needed craft supplies!   Here are some suggestions on where to check~ local schools, retirement centers, boys & girls clubs, day care centers, churches etc...

But if you still can't find anyone to donate your crafty stuff to here is a list of organizations that need or can use craft supplies.  

If you know of any more just post it here and I'll add it to the list!  

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital ~ Pick a craft, collect supplies, write out instructions and place everything in a zip loc bag. Crafts are given to patients and adults of all ages through the Happy Cart. Supplies you should avoid:  play dough, live feathers, leaves, moss, dirt, glitter, and any food products like pasta or beans.

Touching Little Lives ~ flannel, thread, batting, yarn, ream of paper, a roll of stamps, a box of envelopes ~ Provide clothing and necessity items to newborns, we also make and provide neonatal positioning devices(snuggles, snakes and frogs) to area hospitals as well as surgery dolls and stuffed animals.

St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN, USA.  Incredible place.  This is the leading non-profit children's hospital in the USA.  Mainly researching cures for childhood cancers.  The thing about this place that amazes me the most is that they do not demand payment from patients who are uninsured.   Read more at: http://www.stjude.org

  Thanks!! As soon as i saw what st. jude needed ideas began popping into my head.. my mom likes to give me stuffed animals ( i am 18 by the way) and i kinda just say hey thanks! and they go into a tupperware box and into my attic. It is time to give them a new home and a new mommie or daddy. hehe. I have about 20 so far and im really excited to send them! yay for charity!

The St. Jude one is espically great! I think it would be cool for craftsters to make a bunch of kits and stuff and then send them all on behalf of craftster. Maybe we could all send our stuff to Leah with a couple of dollars for shipping. It would be a great way to donate and do it behalf of craftster. What does everyone think? Would you donate? Would Leah be interested?

I don't see why one should pay postage twice.. we could do a craft along.. have a sign up and catagories.. people choose which "objects" they are gonna do and we all send it on the same date.. it would run like a swap but it would all go to St.Judes...

Oh my, a craftalong sounds nice, but someone would have to put it together.  I've never done one before, just browsed through the forum.  All I have organized on here is one simple swap! 

But it really does sound great and if it happens to come about, PM me and I'll join in!  I stilll havent started on stationery stuff yet.    Finals just totally ruin my crafty times.

If you live in the Phoenix Arizona Metropolitan area The Bead Museum can always use donations of unwanted beading supplies.

The Bead Museum which is located at 5754 W. Glen Dr. in Glendale AZ has a great program for kids and lots of the donated supplies are used to teach children how to bead and about beads.

The museum also has a store that uses its profits to help support the museum. If you donate supplies to be sold the money will be supporting a really cool museum that is unique.

All donations are tax deductable
