This list is great!  I work for a craft supplies company and would love to be able to give back and this reference list is awesome!  Thanks so much!

Hey all! I was wondering, how would you go about starting up a Fiber Guild like the one featured on page 1? I tried going to their homepage but it was expired or otherwise unavailable, and I know that Alaska (my home state) has a really high rate of preemie babies and cancers, thus being an excellent cause to craft for. Now I'm just flabbergasted at how to start! Could you give me any advice?

Maybe check and see if there is a national one. Also, check the state/county fairs if you have them. They are there a lot of times. Also, just ask friends, craft stores you go to. See if everyone can meet a certain night and go from there.

When I was pregnant we went to The pregnancy resource center. They gave us crocheted blankets, booties, mittens, etc. It was a godsend. I know that they are constantly in need of more items. Though I think they prefer finished items. But it would be heart warming to know the blanket you make could warm a less fortunate baby at night.

I never thought of doing that!  I sell baby items on my Etsy shop and wanted to get together with my mother and make some blankets and hats to a children's hospital in DuBois..but we have a local pregnancy resource center here (I just saw their ad in the morning paper) AND we live in a very poor, rural part of the state.  Thanks for sharing the info Smiley

Hello all,

I know this topic was started a long time ago. But I wanted to ask for any updated information of where we might be able to send our old craft supplies for donation.

I'm cleaning out my craft closet and I have a lot of stuff I just don't want to use any more like: poly clay, resin, misc project odds and ends. I thought about selling it but I don't know if I'll get very much for it. If I could just donate it, that would be so much easier for me. But the problem is that most of it is used stuff.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
