HI! I'm pretty excited I've been "hired" to do the food, decorations, favors etc for a large bridal shower. This is the first time I've been asked to do food for a non-family event. I ususally do the food for all our family gatherings. I need to give a price quote by Thursday.
I don't know how to estmate the amount of different foods & drink that i will need per person to figure my cost out..  Cheese, crackers, drinks etc...
Does anyone know of a folrmula for this??
Thanks so much!!

On a website for mail-order appetizers, they suggest about 7 appetizers per person.  These are like mini-quiches and roll-ups and what have you.  I guess it's best to think about how much one hungry person would eat at one sitting, and add about 10%.

An important thing to remember when setting up as well.....put the cheaper stuff at the beginning of the buffet line, so they will fill up their plate.  By the time they hit the hot appetizers, they can't get as much of those.  Also, if this shower is around a meal hour, folks are going to be more inclined to pig out, since they are probably using it in place of that meal.

Thank you !  I hadn't thught about the placement of the food that way. That is a very good tip.   Actually it will be tray passed hot apps, a small cold app buffet then a buffet meal.
