My DH and I made my DD's bunny a cage last night. I was surfing ebay hoping to find a cheap cage because the poor critter was cramped in what we had. I came across someone making and selling these. I had most of the materials to start with. The silver mesh is cube storage, zip ties hold it all together, and there are corrugated plastic floors.it cost us $50 to make.

it looks like your bunny loves its new home, its like that show on tv where they give people with tiny cramped houses new big gigantic houses and the people cry in the end because they are so happy, i think your bunny is crying tears of joy.

Wow nice job.

I've seen those cages while browsing eBay for ferret supplies ... I think yours turned out way better than the ones on eBay though.  It doesn't look home-made at all.

The prices for these cages on ebay are about right. The plastic for the floors is $16.00 for a 4x8 sheet and that can do all 3 floors. you need 3 boxes of shelves @ $20.00 each. That comes to $76.00 before taxes. We added a base made out of 2"x2"'s ($2.00) and some wheels (5 @ $2.50 = $12.50) and we used zip ties ($8.00 for 100) to secure the cage together. In total it would have cost us $98.50 + 14% = $112.29 Canadian funds.

Oh wow!  That is awesome!
Makes me miss my bunny as well.  Foe Foe passed away from Renal Failure last January.

I haven't found a new bunny yet, but when I do I would love to make a cage like that!

Can you please tell me where you purchased the wire mesh cube storage?

The storage cubes can be found at The Great Canadian Wholesale Club and at Walmart. The ones at Walmart are plastic coated in color. Zellers used to have them and Canadian Tire has them too.
