I know that we've all probably sent our cards (I hope!) by now, but I just finally signed up after lurking for a while, so I thought I'd make an introductory/look what I can do! post to try to keep up with all the fabulosity that happens here.

I've been collecting the postmarked stamps from all the mail I open at work for several months now, much to my boss's bewilderment, intending to use them for something and they inspired my holiday cards this year.

I start out all sweet.

...but then.

Making this one inspired the Christmas ones after it.

("when you celebrate hanukkah, the terrorists win.")

and

etc., open to say

I can also be non-snarky.

("sing a song of love and joy")

It's not nearly as much fun, though more acceptable for like, friends' parents and such.

Anyway.  Feel free to be inspired for your own non-commercial snarkfest purposes next year - or just buy some from me next year, as I'm totally mass-producing these babies. Wink

That's pretty darn funny.

That's pretty darn funny.

We only think it's funny because we hate freedom.

I love those- the letter stamps and salvaged postage are beautiful!  And as a Hanukkah participant, I'm proud to be doing my part to free the world from (duh duh duh) evil  Roll Eyes Tongue

*chuckles* I heart your "When Christmas isn't merry the terrorists win" ones. I'm SO bookmarking this for my holiday cards next year... Are you really going to be selling them?

Out of curiosity, how come not the Hanukkah one?

To clarify, it was made for a very liberal Jewish friend of mine who will absolutely love it, and like the Christmas version of the same, it's meant to be tongue-in-cheek.  The Christmas ones, to me, say that one must enjoy being Christian, dammit, or else the "others" win, and clearly, in America, we can't have non-Christians hanging about.  The Hanukkah one is also intended to also be in that "everyone needs to be Christian or the world will end" sort of vein.  I'm sorry if it offended anyone somehow, but I thought it was kind of obvious that it was a joke.

All the recipients who've been ...recipiented? so far have loved them, and I've been encouraged by a few people to do so.  I just might.  Hmm, if I screen printed them, they'd also be faster to make and cheaper for everyone...  Definitely something to keep in mind.

Another good one I saw mass-produced at the Urban Outfitters clearance sale today was one that had a pretty and sweet snowflake graphic on the front, with text that read, "Snowflakes wouldn't be as lovely if they were shaped like prostitutes."  I about died.

Thank you for the clarification Smiley Now that you have explained it, I understand what it means Tongue I retract my comment. Sorry ~ it sounded rather, eh, can't think of the words right now (just didn't sound right). They are quite clever, and I must not try to understand tongue-in-cheek jokes when I am sleep deprived >.<

I actually noticed the time you posted after I replied and hoped I didn't come off as sounding harsh when I finally realized you probably just misread it at the late hour.  (My first couple of friends looking at it missed a word or two, too, until I looked puzzled at them looking puzzled and then they looked again and had a lightbulb moment. You know.)  I'm glad no offense was taken the first time around, and hope it's still true in this last exchange. Smiley

Because anyone not in perfect alignment with "us"... well, we know what they are. +)

That may be one of the top compliments I've gotten this month.  Thanks!
