As you work each row of the crochet on the body, attach it with a crochet stitch to the shoulder of the sweater, that way you don't have to go back and seam that part when you're done.  The directions didn't say that, that may be common sense for a crocheter, but this was my first time doing crochet so I didn't know better.

I also left off the 8th row of crochet on the whole thing.  I thought it made it look a little sloppy.  Going to get a button right now!

Finito!   Not bad for my first full sweater (I've just done shrugs), first crochet, first time re-figuring a pattern....

I'm just finishing up all the seaming.....all I have to do is the rows of crochet stitches around the jacket and I'm done.....this is my first real crochet project as well.....the sleeves look good so far in that respect......it looks hot in black too
