Xmas beaded scarves

So I had grand plans of all these things I wanted to knit for gifts.. and ended up having time only for those 5 scarves ! ..but I'm still happy with how they turned out, and I think the recipients liked them. (I put them in a basket and let the ladies choose their favorites)





..and sorry, that last one is crocheted, but I'd just rather post them all together..  It's after a pattern I found in that french I just bought. Seems my sister in law loved it !

These are all gorgeous, Prunille... I just love the look of the beads instead of fringe on scarves -- so elegant! What wonderful gifts, and fun that you let them choose! I adore the pattern of that peacock blue one, too...

How did you handle the beading?

I don't know how to knit so  your knitted scarfs  look to me like little works of magic.
 I love that last scarf , I was thinking about macking a scarf like that fore a while. I know how to crochet spiral but what did you use fore a base that you wrap around neck.

How did you handle the beading?

..hm, not sure I'll be using the right words, I used sewing thread, went along the scarf a bit,  made a couple knots to make sure they'd stay in place, went thru the big beads then one small bead  (the "end" of each "leg"), then back a second time thru the big beads, couple knots, along the scarf a bit ect.. Is that what you meant ?

olenka, actually that's the only part in the original pattern I didn't follow, it was meant to be just ch/sc all the length, but you can just go with whatever thin scarf you'd make, and then add the curls along the long side.. I used a relief stitch for mine, kind of "dog-collar" style, it looked cool..  ;-)

They are so pretty. I love the colors and the testures! Completely beautiful!!! I would have loved to recieve something like that for a gift!
