I am starting to dabble in candle making and when I did a search saw that there were several people on Craftster who were into either making candles or candle holders.  I also saw that most of the candle posts were under misc. projects.  Maybe a board under Home Sweet Home?  I went through a few of the pages and didn't see where this had been suggested yet, sorry if I missed another thread.

Just curious as too how many people were into this and if it would be worth it.

Thanks for reading.

I would like a candle board as well, I have to search for candle stuff too and I know many of the bath and body people make candles too, I think that would be great.

i actually think it's a good idea. when i looked for a candle board for some help, i couldn't find one.
this would be good for beginning, intermediate and advanced candle makers. it can be used for tips on the process, too.

Being a candlemaker myself, I wouldn't mind a section devoted to that Smiley

I think it would be a fun board! And I feel if there was a board just for candles it would inspire more people on Craftster to learn about candlemaking.

Me to, I've been looking everywhere for where the candles are hidden and I keep getting sidetracked Cheesy  A candle board would be great not as much as what you stumble onto when you are searching though.

I like this idea.  I'm a candlemaker myself (not so much anymore, lack of time!) and I'm always on the lookout for new ideas and new techniques.  There's only so much you can learn from a book!

I think either HOME SWEET HOME or MISC would be good for this.

I swore there was a section for candle making.. but I can't find it. Are there any plans to make a board for candle making?

A lot of people post candle stuff in Bath & Beauty, there is a lot of overlap with soap makers I think. There's a few members over there that really know what they're talking about candle-wise (not me lol).  I've also seen candles posted in miscellaneous and maybe home dec?

That's why a candle area would be nice. They're posted all over the board. Perhaps a subsection in the Housewares/Interior design board?
Like you say, they are there, in Misc, in bath and beauty, ect.
And-I've made a couple of candles, but never soap. I don't know how much overlap there is. I've made a candle or two, but soap is a whole different animal.
*shrugs* I still think a board someday would be nifty.

A lot of the ingredients can be the same...wax, palm stearic, fragrance, etc. Once you have some of the supplies for one, it's pretty easy to start making the other!
