Gorgeous!  I love the addition of the ladybug, it's those little details that make things so special.   Grin

thanks for the nice comments everyone, I am relatively new to knitting, so advice and feedback is always appreciated!  I think my next task is to figure out how to put zippers onto knitted bags.....hmmm.....i'm sure there is a thread for this somewhere!

 Smiley cheers

Well now I'm inspired because I thought you were an old pro. Wink I'm going to teach myself to knit as soon as I finish up my swaps. How long have you been knitting?

That bag is super, super cute.

Re: zippers...do you have a sewing machine with a zipper foot? Otherwise, I'd just sew it on by hand, as tedious as that might be. Or see if you can trade favors with a seamstress friend, perhaps?

hehe...thanks pinkmafia....i've been knitting for about 6 months.  I had learned to crochet from my grandma years ago, so knowing that helped me a bit i think.  i found some online tuturial videos that showed the basics and then after many many many ripped out rows and dropped stitches i finally finished a potholder, my first project!  Tongue  now i'm addicted!

and about the zippers.....i have a sewing machine with a zipper foot.....but have yet to attempt using it!  i just didn't know if i could treat something knitted the same as regular fabric, but sounds like i can?

Yikes--I thought you were an old pro, too.  That purse is adorable, and the fingerless gloves you sent me are soooo wonderful (and flawlessly done, I might add--I can't believe you made those and sized them so perfectly after a few months of knitting!).  I suppose I shouldn't be surprised by your great eye for design, since you're a photographer--but I am anyway.
