I love it.  I did something similar for my boyfriend, who lives 2200 miles away a few months ago.  I have a poem he likes for me to read to him when he's sleepy, and I free handed the first lines of it near my mouth on the stencil I made of myself sleeping.  I only had my head though, I think I like how yours turned out a lot more.

Then he asked,"Lord, what about when there was one set of footprints on one side and also a straight line with bootprints on one side and small round circles on the other?" The Lord replied, "Those were when I carried you, and we were joined by a pirate pushing a wheelbarrow."

1. Thumbtacks work really well to hold down all the little pointy bits of the stencil that like to stand.

Excellent idea! I've only done a couple stencils, but I had just been holding down those with my finger, and it was rather messy.

I use spray glue for my stencils.  I just coat the back lightly and let it dry nice and tacky, and then you can press it down almost like a sticker.  Make sure you spray it on thin let it dry though, because otherwise you end up with residue.
