I thought these were extraordinarily adorable, so I bought some cherries and kisses and got started!

The only problem was that I thought I had sliced almonds in the house, but as it turned out all I had was slivered, making my mice look a little more like cutesy rabbits...

The appropriately Christmas-colored kisses.

So far, so good.

Two rows done.

FINISHED!

Overall, I think it was pretty dang awesome. They're still setting, meaning I have yet to try them, but they look delicious. It was time consuming, but well worth it. Then again I'm not very used to crafts like these (unlike most of you here), so it probably took me a bit longer.

Thank you for the tutorial!

They DO look delicious!

I'd bet that if you toasted the slivered almonds they wouldn't be quite so obviously white..... Roll Eyes...

Does anyone have a clue how long they keep??? Do I need to add, "eat with in one week" note to them or something. I don't want to hurt anyone.

I honestly doubt they would last more than a week. Or at least not in my house!

i also just made these for my daughters brownie troop. the kids loved it. i had them sitting on a chocolate peanut butter graham cookie. it made it easier to give out without breaking them.

Clearly, I am not destined to be a brilliant "chocolate mouse" maker!!!
Here are the 5 I made.  I believe my troubles started when I steered away from the original recipe.  I used Malt balls and black licorice rope instead of the cherries.  Not the best idea I think!
Here the sad little guys are:
