Very cute and a yummy idea. I didn't read the whole thread, since it's 23 pages long, but I can't be the only person that thought for a slightly older group, that it would look good with the addition of a Graham cracker or Hersey bar made into a mouse trap and one of the mice in it? Maybe for the more squeamish just have the traps around the mice.

I hope I'm not the only one with a warped sense of humor.   Cheesy

Perhaps use a candy cane as the snap bar?

I recently saw mice with a regular chocolate chip as the head, instead of the Hershey Kiss. Just as cute.

This is a great project & you described the process very well.  I've made them several times but placed each mouse on a square chocolate covered graham cookie.  It made them easier to handle.  They're good sellers at a bake sale too.
