About how long do these stay fresh, do you suppose?
Also, the marichino (sp?) cherries I buy in my supermarket are usually very small...and the ones in the pictures seem rather large. Is there another variety I might just not be aware of that are larger?

I buy the big jar/container of maraschino cherries from Sam's Club, and I presume they are for garnish but they are not giant cherries, just normal size (notice the size of the Hershey kisses).

I can't guess at how long they will last because none of mine ever escape being eaten more than a day or so. If you refrigerated them, they might last a couple or 3-4 days. It's hard to get all the juice out of the cherry when you blot it (but that makes them taste ever so good, too!)

I'm thinking for Christmas I'll do the mice and some small triangles of rice krispie treats with orange food coloring (for cheese wedges) - I'm just trying to find triangular boxes that I can make look like a big wedge of cheese and then write "Not a creature was stirring . . ." on the top
what do you think?
