Just joined, so I'm putting up the most recent addition to my craft/sewing/art room:

MINGO!

http://www.boomspeed.com/spottedfae13/mingoclose.jpg

For my birthday, a while back, my mom gave me an old couch she found on one of her dumpster diving excursions.  The shape and construction on it was AMAZING, the only thing that had to go was the quilted bird/shell/sea fabric it was upholstered in.

Now we have never recovered any kind of furniture, so we just kind of went on common sense and luck with this.
We measured a billion times, made patterns with butcher paper for some bits, and eyed it on others, and sewed.
So basically it ended up as a slip cover, that we thought would look better with it's ends stapled to the bottom of the frame.
Tra la la!

I found it at a High Fashion, a local houston shop.  I'm sure you could find something similar, if you have a large fabric store in your area.   Good luck!

Thanks so much!
I'm so happy with how it came out, even more so that we got it on relatively the first try.
