I really love these bags - I'd love to try one for myself! Do you know the approximate dimensions of the bags you made (either of the original fabric you cut out or the finished product)? Thanks so much for answering our questions. Smiley

well, lets see, the main part of the fabric for the first ones was about 13 tall from the top of the U to the bottom edge i think, and roughly 11 inches wide at the top part, graduating down to 9 inches wide at the bottom, then 1.25 squares cut for the box bottom.

i made a second one over the weekend

for this one the main body shape is more like the size of the jordy bag we all know and love. I'm trying to figure out a way to post a pattern of itthis second one, but technology traps me right now. so for this second one the main body was the 12 wide at the top, and 8" wide at the bottom, and then 9" from the top of the T to the bottom edge.

but for this second one, i thought, ooh, wide bands! won't that be cool looking! Au contraire mon frere. i used 1" binding. it's too wide for the U. so it really doesn't look very good. plus binding that wide on curves that pronounced is clutzy, and hard to work with. so my craftsmanship isn't all there. from far away it looks ok, but when you get close, it really doesn't look so good. it's a sentimental favorite, but not one for a gift or for selling, for sure.  stick with .5 inch binding, or use wider curves if you want wider binding.
