I designed and created this over a few weeks with MANY hours - but I really think it turned out well so I wanted to share it!
In all, there are about three yards of white chiffon that I hung on a clothes line and painted with highly watered down mediums of acrylic.  After picking out all of my colors (about eight, and gold for a little sparkle  Wink ) I used three different brush sizes and two sponge brushes to apply the paint.  Once the paint was on the fabric I let it dry for a few seconds before running water down it (that is what created the streaky effect).  Obviously that washed out a lot of the paint so for each color I reapplied it about three times before moving on to the next section.  The painting took about four hours.
After the fabric dried, I they got to work on the draping of the pattern - I had an idea in mind and just sort of went with it.  There is an off-white mini dress under the chiffon that is fitted to my body much like any normal sundress, and each of the cups is double lined for coverage.   Wink  There is a back invisible zipper and the straps tie around the neck.  Everything is cut on the bias so that it flows very pretty when I walk.
I think that's about as much explaining as I can do - I'll let the photos speak for themselves.  I hope you like it and I'd love some feedback!! Thanks!!!

Sorry for the quality on this one - it's a picture of a picture!

That is absolutely gorgeous. Great job, it sounds like a difficult task.

Everybody likes pink. People who think otherwise are in denial.

WOW!!!! I'm so impressed!!!  How were you able to get the color edges so even?  I'm speechless!  When the paint dried, did it stiffen up the fabric?  It doesn't look like it.  I'm so glad that it worked out for you!!
