I tried making a skirt out of ties. I failed because I forgot to take my butt into account when doing measurements...  Undecided

Long story short, I think polyester seventies ties are the cat's pajamas, so I had to do something with them.

And why not a purse?

I rather like the dangly ends of the ties. I was originally gonna chop em off, but I've grown attached. They're kinda funky, I think.

Also, I was thinking of using the tip of one end as a button loop and putting a dress button from a men's suit as a clasp.

What are your opinions? This is a prototype, so I'll be keeping it (SHUCKY DARNS!) But I am making one as a gift for a friend, and also a few to sell. (I can post a tutorial if you guys want when I am making the next and hopefully better one) But what could be improved? Suggestions? Thoughts? Anyone?

I have soooo many ties, I think my next one will be mauve and tan, my friend's fav. colors.

That is all.

Rachel

I like it alot, although I dont think you will need to post a tutorial, http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=8443.0 , even though there aren't pictures with her directions, from the amount of people who have made them, they seem to be pretty clear. Your purse is awesome! I love the colors.

Oh...

Well, now I feel like an ass! I thought I might have had an original-ish idea going.

Mine is slightly different, you can't see any stitches and it's a bit smaller. But oh well.

:-D

Not too bad, actually, I really do like the style Smiley I'd buy it, given I wouldn't have to pay shipping and handling and I could fondle it beforehand
