Has anyone come across a good recipe for a yummy lip balm? I'm interested in trying something out, but I don't want to go and buy a whole bunch of supplies.

I found this yesterday seems easy - but haven't tried it yet...

Honey Lime and Chocolate Lip Gloss

Design: Jaime Murff

Honey Lime Lip gloss

YOULL NEED:
7-8 tsp. sweet almond oil
2 tsp. beeswax
Vitamin E capsule
1 tsp. honey
5 drops lime flavoring or essential oil
Small container with lid
Miscellaneous items: microwave- safe bowl, microwave, straight pin, wire whisk, spoon

INSTRUCTIONS
1 Melt the oil and beeswax in the microwave for 1-2 minutes.
2 Remove the mixture from the microwave. Pierce the vitamin E capsule with the straight pin and whisk the contents of the capsule, honey, and flavoring into the mixture until it is set.
3 Spoon the finished lip gloss into the small container.

Chocolate Lip Gloss

Design: Jaime Murff

YOULL NEED
3 tsp. cocoa butter
3-4 chocolate chips or brown lipstick shavings
1\4 tsp. sweet almond oil
Vitamin E capsule
Small container with lid
Miscellaneous items: microwave- safe bowl, microwave, straight pin, wire whisk, spoon

INSTRUCTIONS
1 Melt the cocoa butter, chocolate chips, and oil in the microwave for 1-2 minutes.

oh! I also meant to add that often when I look online for soap-making supply companies, I see that they carry various kinds of lip-balm containers.

For example, I just did a quick search and found these:
http://www.betweenfriendstoo.com/containers.htm

I'm there are tons of other companies that sell these as well.

I'm so excited I won a lip balm heat and pour kit from e-bay today. This will be my first attempt.

And I went to the craft store Michaels today. And they had on an end cap ,by the soap making isle, lip balm flavouring, color pigment and tubes and mini pots for lip balm all under 5 bucks! I thought that was a pretty good deal.
I didn't know they carried that stuff!

Also check out this site for some great lip balm making items:

PS
That  chocolate recipe sounds sooo good!
Has anyone tried putting cinnamon in their lip balm?

There's a soy-based lip balm melt-and-pour from this site: http://www.bubblesnlights.com/bathbody_bases.html
And a beeswax-based from: http://www.pinemeadows.net/

I like the melt-and-pours because they come out just as well as the complex recipes without all the measuring.  I just dump in some flavor (from stuffjulielikes.com noted above) and some powdered food coloring and it's all set.  If the melt-and-pour comes out too hard, try it again but add a little some sweet almond oil.

Another great spot for packaging is http://www.sunburstbottle.com and http://www.the-sage.com has a lot of interesting supplies, flavors, etc.

Re: neesypea cinnamon question

I tried using cinnamon yesturday but it wouldnt disolve or w/e when i was heating it and mixing it w// the other ingredientz, so when i poured it into the container i filtered it out as i poured but my lip gloss still has the cinnamon scent XD *hope that made sense* lol
