Here is a project I made for one of my classes this semester (I'm an apparel design master's student). I made about 8 knitted strips (like lots of scarves; all my pieces were rectangular) of different lengths and widths (ranging from about 18" long to 4.5' long). I made sure to make two identical pieces that were the proper length and width for sleeves, and two identical pieces for the sides of the bodice area. Then I draped all the pieces on my dress form and whip-stitched them together with yarn.

***It's been a while since I've checked my stuff on Craftster, and I just thought I would pop in and take a peek at my old stuff. I was so excited when all saw all of your responses wanting a tutorial on the scarf sweater and wanting to see more of my stuff. I have been very busy lately with work and school (yes, I'm taking more classes even though I already have a degree. why? because I want to be in school the rest of my life), but I have a bit of a break coming up, so then I will make a tutorial. I think most of you will be surprised to find that making this sweater is easier than you think, but still will take a good amount of time (unless you cheat like me and make your scarves on a manual knitting machine). Also, I will try to get together pictures of my other work for everyone to see, which you will discover is very random, concerning both subject and medium.***

The tutorial is here! Click the link below to download the PDF of the tutorial. The tutorial is also availble on my blog, listed in my sig line.

Wow, great design!
It has a bit of an African/ethnic feeling to it, but at the same time it is truly original.
I would love to see more of your work.

Sometimes it's knit and sometimes it's crochet.
