I made switchplates for most of the male members and small members of my family:

Star Wars for a BIL and mother and child for a friend:



Dora for my niece and Thomas for  a nephew:



Aslan for a nephew and the hunting themed one for a BIL:



Hot Rod for my brother and cow for a BIL:



Milne for my daughters:





And, I forgot to take pictures of some classic black and white sailing shots that I decoupaged on black (very distressed over white) switchplates that I am giving my husband for our bedroom....

that is such a great idea for gifts, I've made them for myself before to fit specific rooms but it never occured to me to use them as gifts, perfect!
