I took a pottery class about 2 years ago, and this is one of the pieces I made.  It's my most favorite, and probably the only thing I made that came out halfway decent.  Wink

It was made by rolling out a flat slab of clay, and attaching coils and beads of clay to it.  It was allowed to dry, then fired, and then painted with acrylic paints, in various shades of blue, purple, and shimmery glitter paint!  The picture doesn't show the glitter at all, which is very sad.  It is far more shimmery and glittery in real life.

It is about the size of a piece of printer paper, (8.5 x 11 inches, and about an inch high), and is HEAVY.  I had an idea to hang it on the wall, but it easily weighs 10 lbs, and I'm afraid it will break if I try to hang it.  Maybe one day I will have it professionally framed or something.

That is so beautiful.  Maybe you could get a plate stand to sit on.  You will need a real strong one though for 10 lbs.  Geez my baby weighs that much.   Cheesy
I love the colors.

Those are totally cool and I must remember to try and make one myself the next time I get into my mom's studio.  Smiley
If you ever get the chance to make more, they would make totally awesome stepping stones for a garden and I'm sure they'd fetch a pretty penny if you ever decided to sell them. ^_^

Thanks, everyone. Smiley

It's a very tactile piece.  Definitely begs to be touched, and is meant to be. Smiley  The beads and coils are at differening heights, so I dont' know if that would work well for a stepping stone.  But that is definitely a cool idea.

Maybe one of those picture ledges/shelves + a plate stand would let you put it on the wall. It is really lovely.
