I definitely know what you mean. Our Northern has a wide selection of black, orange and flourescent green red heart supersaver.

Yeah, that Folknits qiviut is crazy expensive but I just don't see how I'll be making it to the barrens to gather it myself (sigh). But hey, if anyone out there happens to have any, and needs a spinner to spin it, let me know! We could arrange something. I do natural dyeing (lichen, even!) too.

Thought I'd also leave a plug for the YK Guild of Arts and Crafts; we're having our spring sale on Sat. April 29 (preview on Friday the 28th at 7pm). I'll be offering my handspun there, for anyone in Yellowknife who's been looking for some hand-dyed, handspun yarn.

Thanks everyone for the heads up on other good suppliers. Sometimes I just break down and get my family to send a care package, anyway.

I have been lurking here for a while.  It is good to see crafters in the North.  Here in Faro there are a number of crocheters like me.  I just need to find a place to buy yarn.  I am going to check out Folkknits when I am in Whitehorse next to see if they have anything more in my price range (ie.: cheap).
