i have already got my mum some bubble bath, chocolate and a small felt elephant i made using this tute, http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=28412.0, but does anyone have an idea of a small and quick thing i could make? my mum is a microbiologist and loves the colour blue, if that helps. she also likes elephants.

*sigh* i love maltesers...

anyway, what about a bag like this: http://www.marthastewart.com/page.jhtml?type=content&id=channel1246&contentGroup=MSL&site=living

it's a "shoe bag" from Martha Stewart's site, but i've made a bunch and they're great for stuff other than shoes.  i use one to carry my unmentionables in when i travel.

"But why don't you scream now?" Alice asked, holding her hands ready to put over her ears again.

"Why, I've done all the screaming already," said the Queen. "What would be the good of having it all over again?"

no problem! i forgot to mention that those bags are pretty cheap and you could theoretically tear up a piece of clothing to make it.

maltesers, crunchies, fruit and nut...it's all yummy!

i looked at a few tutes, but decided i wouldn't risk sewing my own zipper in yet. i found an unused makeup bag, and added felt and a bell:
