I made this for my grandmother-in-law for Christmas -- a sassy red hat to match her personality!  It was a cloche pattern from the Lion Brand yarn website.  I used a different rose and a separate leaf pattern from other sites.

Please be kind -- I'm new to needlework!

PS -- the bear is just modeling the hat until Christmas  Wink

That is so cute - and not just because it's on the bear! I think you did a great job on the flower and even though the colours are bright, it's not a gaudy hat.

Thanks for the encouragement!  It;s actually supposed to be a bit flashy -- she's in a "club" for mature women called the Red Hat Society -- these women WANT to be noticed because they have a youthful spirit.  It's really a great way for older women to have fun -- they wear purple suits and wear red hats with purple trim.

I thought it looked like a Red Hat Society hat! You got the look you were going for.

"But why don't you scream now?" Alice asked, holding her hands ready to put over her ears again.

"Why, I've done all the screaming already," said the Queen. "What would be the good of having it all over again?"
