Oh Ladybugstew, Luna lady is delightful.  You did fine with the photos.  Thanks so much for making the effort and sharing.  How did you ever come up with putting a lady bust and head on the butterfly?  It makes me think of a ships figurehead.  It is ever so lovely, and to me quite a novel idea.  I love seeing everyone's work because it truely expands my vision.  Hugs to you!

Grace~Thank you so much for your encourgement...One of the (many) truly amazing things about this site.  I love it!
~SO many crafty folks and so many original ideas.
The idea  for Luna actually came from a dream-(please excuse how cheezy that sounds...) but I had a dream that a Luna (really big) slowly morphed into a woman by the dreams end.  And I just love needle felting...
I'm really glad you like her and thanks again! Grin

Those wings are exquisite.  Could you elaborate on how you did them?

Oh be still my heart.  It is awesome that you can remember dreams and create beautiful art from them.  Not at all cheezy---- I think lots of us envy you that kind of vision.

Thanks radal 16   ~To make the wings I just used floral wire. It bends easily but holds a shape well at  the same time.  I made them in four pieces.  Then felted one big piece of green wool and cut it to fit each wire wing frame.  I cut each piece of felt a little larger so there would be enough to wrap around the wire and felt  it down to the back side.  Once I made the pieces for the wings, I added the details and then sewed them together (where upper wings meet the lower) with monofilament .  Hope that makes any sense...

Graceoblivious is right--it does remind one of a ship's figurehead.  And it's beautiful, the colors, the design and shape, everything!!

Thanks so much to you both! I never considered the ship's figurehead...But I can totally see it now~I've got some other creatures in the works in the same vein but larger in scale. I'll post again soon...Thanks again! Cheesy

Wow I love the wing shape! What an original idea, she looks great! I wish I had dreams that inspired me, most of mine seem to be about being late for exams... Undecided
