Don't let the above title fool you - this is not a topic one could read to find out this board's rules - what I am suggesting is that that a sticky post be placed on this board be created with rules for posting here.

Objectives:  Organize this board, lay out rules for posting, and take some of the heat off of Leah.

Suggested rules (please add your own ideas):

This board should *not* be constantly monitored by Leah.   She doesn't have the time.   Here is what I suggest:

    * Posters create a topic with their suggestion.   The suggestion should be clear and defined in the topic title.
    * Instead of a general post, with anywhere from 8 to 339 "me too" posts underneath it, responders to a suggestion are asked to simply "sign" or "don't sign" the suggestion.   Think of it as a petition.   If you created the topic you should elucidate in your post exactly why you think your suggestion will benefit craftster as a whole.  If you respond to the post, a "sign" should speak for itself - you agree with the topic creator.   If you "don't sign" you are expected to explain why.
    * The topic creator is expected to keep track of the "signs" and "don't sign's" Once a suggestion achieves 500 accumulated "signs" (remember that "don't sign's" count against the total), they can submit it for consideration to either Leah herself, or to a Global Moderator.

Posters to this board should be expected to be HONEST - if a suggestion is silly, trivial, selfish, etc. they should "don't sign" the suggestion.   Explanations would be required, but should be expected to be civil and courteous, as all posts on Craftster should be.

What's the point?   It creates a system for suggesting improvement to the site, and allows Leah (or the GM's) to consider only changes that are proven to be of interest to a considerable number of users.

Anyhow....   just a thought.   I outright admit that it is based on a system used elsewhere.
