How to beautify a safety rail

Hey Craftsters! I am an intermediate sewer and I need some suggestions! I recently re-decorated my daughters "big girl" room- nothing was overlooked! Since she was moving into a twin bed from a crib and a larger room, I tried to make the room as desirable as possible, to ease the transition. Well, I overlooked her need for a safety rail. The one I own is bright blue and completely standing out (in a bad way). I considered slip covering it, but was afraid to cover the breathable mesh part. How can I intergrate this necessary eye sore? This is a stock photo of what I'm working with. Her room is fushia, teal, and yellow. I have fabrics I could use, but I dont know how to go about it. Any ideas from this talented group would be greatly appreciated!
