I needed something cool to fill a vase for a friend and happened to decide to make them out purely of duct tape! They're actually very sturdy and guys and girls alike like them- i'm planning on using them for easy Christmas for classmates this year. (I'm sure there are other tutorials on how to do this, but this is how i did mine...)

((Click on any picture to see it bigger))

First of all, the finished product (featured in a record bowl):

All you need for this project is duct tape and scissors. (I perfer to use silver, but you can get many different colors in craft and hardware stores)

Step 1: Petals
To make the first petal, get a piece of duct tape about this long:

Fold under the lower right side:

Fold under the top right corner:

Repeat for the other side of the petal:

Next, fold down the top:

Finally, fold in the bottom corners:

Tada! Your first petal. Stick it on something (preferably metal or something that wont cause the duct tape to lose any stickiness. My sister's fingers also worked quite well  Cheesy)

Step 2: Blossom

When you have 5 of these petals:

Stick them together in a nice flower shape. I found my favorite flowers were the ones that i stuck together so it makes a slight cup-shape.

Make 3 more petals of roughly the same size as the first 5 and stick them on your flower shape.

Make 3 more smaller petals and stick them on:

Next, get a piece of tape about this long:

And cut it in half to get two roughly square pieces:

Fold both pieces into petals and stick them on your flower.

Yay! Now turn your blossom over, it should look like this:

Get a piece of tape about this long (longer than any of the pieces you used to make the petals, but not so long that it's longer than your flower!)

Fold down the top corners:

Then stick it to the back of a petal: Repeat until whole back is covered.

Step 3: Stem
Get a piece as long as the desired length of your stem and roll it into a loose  tube:

Crinkle it randomly to close up the space inside the tube:

Cut one end of your stem on a diagonal to give it a nice finished look:

Step 4: Putting It All Together
Get a piece about this big:

Fold in the bottom sides:

Wrap it around the stem (it should only reach 1/3rd to 1/2 of the way around)

Fold the top sides in, then in again (and a 3rd time, if needed)

Bend the whole piece you just folded back:

Make two more:

Firmly stick it to the bottom of the blossom:

Tada! A duct tape rose!  Grin

If you have any questions, please ask, and if you make a rose, please post it- I'd love to see!

I just made one with clear tape. ^_^ It came out pretty neat, but I want some duct tape now.
Our camera is still packed so I can't post any pics. =/
