This is the first time I have tried this with a $2.00 flip flop!  I have seen them around before and I think they are so adorable.  The pink ones are my favorite!  Grin

you get a pair of cheapie flip flops and some eyelash yarn--any kind.  Using size 13 needles and holding 2 strands together cast on 40 (maybe a few more if the shoe size is 10 or more) and knit (garter stitch) 6 more rows.  Use a size 15 needle to cast off the 7th row.  Then all you do is wrap the long rectangle around the strap and sew it on.  I sew it really tight at the base of the straps and at the toe.  Stays on great.

It's actually a really thin "string" that has long fluffy "eyelashes" coming off it.  Here is a pic.

The knitted eyelash is a much better idea than what I thought you did - i thought you had just glued some marabou on (which would make them ineligible for the beach or anyplace wet).

I see what you mean.....the eyelash is pretty indestructable and would be great for the beach....I use it in felted bags and it comes out great!.  Of course if you got them wet (soaking) it might look like a wet cat (heeheh) ....but will fluff right back up when dry. Smiley

Weeeellll, I don't think you could get flip flops to give you that look of utter disdain and loathing that wet cats have  Wink  but other than that, it would be close!

Well I dont exactly know how to knit but I guess I could figure it out. Wink. I made my own flip flops, but I used crafting loops, and cut it in half and tied it on the straps of my flip flops, all the way from the top to the bottom. Sorry that i dont have pics, maybe one day I will get a camera, and figure that out to. Thanks alot , those r just too cute.

I had a show today in a big law firm and the ladies went crazy for these flip-flops!  Got another show coming up and I think I will make a good bit of inventory.  I knew I loved them but I didn't realize they would be such a hit.   Grin
