AFTER--the vinegar neutralizes the bleach---do this still in a well ventilated area, as noxious gases can stil form.

If you're using bleach in any form as a discharge agent, the piece can be "neutralized" by rinsing well in a vinegar and water solution.

Should you rinse the shirt in vinegar solution before or after you have bleached it?  thanks.

... then I discovered something called a paint syringe at Michael's.  It just looks like a big syringe (duh) with a tiny point.  ...  At 2.99 for 2, it is much for affordable.

Went to Michael's to look for paint syringe but could not find.  Store employees said they had never heard of this item.  What other items in the store was it near?

My mom said that she uses blender pens (which are kind of a wet tip brush pen, that you can get at any craft store) with bleach for cards that she makes. She hasn't tried it on clothes, but i don't see why it wouldn't work and it would be a lot cheaper than buying a bleach pen.
I'll try it tomorrow and see.

I made my first bleached shirt today. I used a bleach pen. They were $4 for two of them so it wasn't so bad. The shirt came out really well, but the cardboard between the layers of the shirt wasn't thick enough and it kinda bleached some on the back. But you live and learn, I think it was good for my first try!
