haha! i tend to have a hard time hanging on to gifts until the occasion as well. birthday gifts from me don't stay wrapped very long. even if people like to wait and be surprised they get so sick of hearing me say "open it, open it, open it!" that they ususally give in.

i'm planning on putting everything into a box though, so it's out of my sight.

I was thinking the same thing. I wrapped my mom's towel today and put it in a plastic bag until I find a good box.

These are boxes that I decorated and made a cross stitch pic for the lids. The bear is a small framed ornanment for the tree.

This is a card that I made for my sister-in-law who is a cat lover. The card has silver lace around the frame. I madeit so she can cut the card in half and hand the picture up. I put card on the back and placed some ribbon to hang it by.

Here is a sachet and a bookmark for my friend. The bookmark is a Celtic knot.
I have never done cross stitching before and I found out that I like it. I want to make a wall hanging. That will be a larger project and one that will be done a bit at a time.

You can make journals, book marks, thongs, etc.

So here is what I've done so far this year. . .actualy the crate of ornament blanks was baked the end of December. . .but the rest was sone this year 

ornaments up close. . .they are decorated with stickers and nail polish

this purse and matching scarf (and put back in wraper for washing instructions)

and this is the collection for the sister in law. . .will be doing some of the ornaments for her to add to this.  the scarf is the only thin handmade in this pic

Hey I found out what a book thong is neat I like the sound of these.
Beads, must get some beads got everthing else I would need just need beads.

I liked the Sewing this month I learnt a lot, I will make more cross stitch stuff it very relaxing. I like this idea of different things to make it stretches the imagination.

Love all the stuff you guys are doing. I keep trying to post on the yahoo group site but for some reason it never shows up. Paula, you've done a great job on all your cross-stitching. I have a couple of cross-stitch finishes,too. I'll take a pic as soon as I get new batteries.

These are two towels I stitched for my Mom. I'm going to send one now and save one for Christmas.
