I got this fabulous book of knitted and crocheted "fashionables" at a local antique store for $1.00.  It has some of the neatest dress and coat patterns I've seen in a while.  I know this is a freebie site and all but let me just toot that I'm selling reproductions of some of these on ebay.  My seller ID is bluehairedmary.  If you're low on dinero, I may be willing to swap patterns with you (for patterns, other ideas, etc.).

There is a Fairisle Houndstooth Chart at the bottom of the first page (on the right side.) I'm quite certain you could modify it for anything you need.
