I got my Christmas tree on the weekend. It's my first year with my own tree and I don't have many decorations so I found some origami paper and ribbon and made a garland of butterflies. I also put a few extra paper butterflies on the tree, just balanced between the needles.

I just cut the paper into 3 inch squares, bundled 4 squares at a time, folded them in half and cut the butterfly shape then punched a hole. When unfolded they have 2 holes to thread the ribbon through.

You're welcome.
I thought they might inspire more butterfly trees around the world Smiley

I'll have to remember to make something similar from my MIL, she loves butterflies and would string this around her room.  Maybe I'll attach them to string lights somehow, hmmm.

The last post said something about attatching them to lights,  That is a GREAT Idea what about making the butterfly from velumn , you could use clear or any of a zillion colors maybe even embellish with a little glitter and rhinestones, perhaps small wire antenna with a pearl for a head,  the possabilities are endless,  I only wish I had know about these last year when I still had my mother here with us, Sh e loved Butterflies and that would have just made her last Christmas Tree all that more special , Maybe Next year a Pink Tree with the Butterflies in White would be stunning   Thanks for the Inspiration    Andy
