I've been wanting to make one of these for a few weeks, but being the non knitting/crochet-er that I am. I have no yarns. Learning how to knit/crochet is on my list of things to do, so I was thinking about just picking up some cheap basic yarn at Wal-Mart, but I was curious if anyone had made one out of ribbons, Completely?

I'll let you know if I manage to make one of them  Wink

aww it's not bad berryapple everyone starts somewhere Smiley you know i bet you could find a swap (you would probebly need to ask your mom or dad first thought) where you could requests some fun yarns, and you don't need full skeins to make this scarf.

also check clearance stuff at walmart, ours has a whole pile of fuzzy yarns that are between 1.50 and 3.00!

i know michaels has a whole line of yarns that range from anywhere between like 2 and 3 dollars. I ALWAYS pick one up when I'm in there.

I'm a yarn whore Cheesy

but your scarf is really cute, everyone's is different because everyone makes theirs to fit them so don't even worry about it Wink

Berry Apple - I like yours! if you're asdding embellishments all the better. For fun I used strips of fabric tied together - it adds a really nice fun effect - try that to spice yours up (remember you can always undo and redo the braid)

Well, I've had a think and decided to leave it like that. My scarf can be different, it doesn't have to be the same. Next time I have lots of fuzzy wool I'll give it another go.

Ahh! I just found this thread, but I saw the scarf on Anthropologie.com this past winter and vowed to myself that I'd make one for the coming winter. I've been saving up scraps and picking up cheap yarn when I see it on sale (I'm not a knitter) ever since. I'll post mine when I get around to making it.

I just saw this craft along today and I love this idea. I have never seen these scarves before so I had to try it out. I made 2 today. One pink and white and one with different blue yarn.

The pink one was the first one I did. It turned out kinda short so I did the other one to get it right.
