yes, the old school keds. I actually stole them from my great-grandmother's house. i love the, but they're hideous. what should I do to spiff them up?

Well, would that work with keds? keds are a lot skinnier than converse.

I'm just going to list random ideas to revitalize those Keds.

Different laces -- ribbon or decorated laces or a measuring tape cut to be thin enough
Add buttons -- sew buttons all over it or on one side of the tongue and elastic hoops on the other side
Stencil images all over them in fabric paint or acrylic and fabric medium
Sew fabric shapes on them like stars or hearts

Hope one of those inspires you!

i like that idea with the acrylic paint. i made a discovery yesturday...i went on an adventure and ventured into the laundry where i found a whole sack full of acrylic paint. i about wet myself with excitment.
