well, in beaumont there is a bead store called the bead barn--i used to work there--where you can buy beads or sit in the store and make jewelry.  when i used to work there it was actually in a little barn, but now it's on crow road, right behind the building with marshall's...kind of across the street from that old-fashioned looking church building...

hmm...there also used to be a store, i don't know if it's still there or not, called the piecemaker...they sell embroidery, needlework kind of things.  it's on calder near market basket and the logon cafe.

also, downtown there's a pretty good thrift shop, if you're into that kind of thing.  it's run by a church--can't remember which one, but it's called the treasure house and it's right as you're going into downtown, before you get to the ywca and the first baptist church.

then of course there's hobby lobby, michael's, joann, etc.  i'll try to think of others.

oh, i totally forgot manning's--it's more of an art/school supply store, but it's amazing.  they have several rows of different kinds/colors of pens, and paper where you can try them out.  plus all kinds of art supplies.

Hey i live in beaumont too. The classic craft stores are good too. Michael's and hobby lobby. But central has better, bigger hobby lobby. The Treasure House is the thrift shop that is ran by ST.MARKS. The goodwill store downtown is great, too. I bought a ton of vintage patterns there, never been used.Hancocks and we also have JOANNS fabric. Next to classic chevrolet and saturn.

Have you ever been to the Flea Market in Winnie (I-10 towards Houston)
Think it is the first weekend after the first Monday each month.   Lots of fun!
