I finished my 2nd figure! And it's a girl! I had a lot of fun putting her makeup on!
There is tons of detail in this one. The wool I used is completely hand dyed for a start. Her hair is a wild mix of Mohair, Merino, Wensleydale and Kid Mohair with a little bit of Angelina sparkle.

She is wearing a silver necklace with a tiny real pearl.

I used some soy silk in her tail to give it a light sheen. She is also wearing a hipbelt made out of handspun yarn.

In her hair she has a little starfish.

This is the face I posted a couple of days ago. The head is about the size of a pingpong ball.

I can't decide on a name for her though. Any suggestions? She hates the name Arielle by the way...

Thanks everybody! Just keep the suggestion coming...
I used a gauge 40 needle for the fine detail (and 36 & 38 for the rest).

OH MY GOD.
That is the most beautiful thing I have ever laid eyes on. I am amazed. Really and truly. That doll is just about everything that I imagine when I think of a Meremaid.

As for names. How about Kaesia? Noralia? Circe? Atrachienne?

( I write a lot of fantasy stories, and making up weird and wonderful names for my characters is a fabulous hobby. )

She's very pretty! When I was little I wanted to be a mermaid with long black hair. So maybe since she has black hair, maybe she's sort of Hawaiian? Aliikai means queen of the sea, Kaimana, divine power of the sea, Moana, ocean.

"But why don't you scream now?" Alice asked, holding her hands ready to put over her ears again.

"Why, I've done all the screaming already," said the Queen. "What would be the good of having it all over again?"
