i made all these matchbox shrines to sell at a store and craft fair, no takers. and they were $2! they have super cute packageing that says dashboard shrine or pin, you decide, and it comes with a sticky pin or two squares of double stick foam.

Those look pretty cool to me.  You should post a detailed shot of one of your favorites.

Dang, Stepmo...those are way, way cool! Its obviously a problem with the audience and not the product.

I went to a local craft show last month to see any of my stuff would fit in there and it was a definite "no".
My mom was a super crafty lady and sold at them all time (granted, it was about 20 years ago)...and everything
else that was at the shows were handmade items.

When I went to this one, there were a few booths with handmade stuff, but I was surprised at the number
of booths that were Pampered Chef, Tupperware, Mary Kay, etc... To me, that stuff doesn't belong there.

I think they are wonderful!
Maybe it was the wrong audience for them?  Or maybe your display set-up wasn't drawing people in?
I think they are very sell-able and a great price.  I especially like the packaging and the "dashboard" idea...i never would've thought of putting one there!

better luck next shrine time. Wink

Not every audience is the right audience. And I second the comments re Mary Kay, Tastefully Simple et al. Craft shows are giving these people more and more space it seems.

hmm... well maybe you should make some of them into magnets?  i think that makes more sense than wearing them as pins.

also, maybe you should make the dashboard shrines more having to do with cars? like dashboard protection shrines? include a little card or something? just a thought.
