So, I wanted to give it a try, creating a pattern of my own for optical knitting. Didn't turn out too well, but at least they're comfortable =) if someone knows a better way to make piano-keys please share, I can't see why this went so wrong.

I also knitted these half-gloves for my nephew who saw my piano-ones and told me I should make gloves without fingers for him too cause they were cool (he's at an age where most kids hardly even put 5 words in a sentance and he's already learned to be diplomatic and ask politly about things). Of course I couldn't refuse so he got to pick out yarn (good choice I must say) and then I knitted these for him. He was sooo happy when he got them, talked about them so much, and even posed for the camera (which he never ever does otherwise)

isn't he just the coolest?

What a cool idea!  There is the former Magknits pattern Counterpoint (on the right under My Patterns) that is also illusion knit piano keys. Smiley

Lovely! I haven't tried any illusion knitting yet, but I hope to start once I finish my current project lineup. I think your piano keys turned out pretty good!

Also, my BF is in love with the Bubble Bobble gloves. Would you mind posting/linking to the chart you used?
