I made this for the Squid Swap.  It's supposed to be a Squid Hat, but it's more of a squid-head-attack-simulation.

More pics and a pattern at my site http://www.StrangebutTrewe.com/squidhat.htm

Oh, my!!!!!  You never cease to amaze and delight!

The rest of us mere mortals are struggling over sweater patterns, while you are knitting the stuff of demented dreams.  (And I mean that with all the respect in the world!!!)

My friend, who has a healthy fear of the giant squid with eyes as big as dinner plates, has told me that I must knit this for him.  So the squids will not attack him, not wanting to poach on another squid's territory.

You know what?  You rule not only because you make the absolutely coolest things I have ever seen anyone knit, ever - but because you share the patterns for free.  My poorly crocheted hat goes off to you.

By the way, I have family in Eugene!  One very crafty aunt and a whole gaggle of other peoples.  Smallish world.

Thanks for putting up the pattern. Grin

Wow, that is so cool! I wish I had one.

Oh wait. I DO!

I'm the luckiest girl alive.

Seriously, arrmatie, thank you so much for crafting this fabulous masterpiece in the Squid Swap. I was flabbergasted. Not a day goes by that I don't look at it and sigh with happiness, and get a little jolt of inspiration to be crafty. Not exaggerating. I love it. You rule so very very much.

As an avid lover of ocean creatures and knittedness, I think this is so incredible.  Your work is beautiful, thanks for sharing the process with us Smiley  I actually attempted this two Christmases ago and got overwhelmed with the size about three tentacles in, haha.  Yay for giant squids
