(This is a repost of the entry that was eaten by the server meltdown. Just so you know! ^_^)

Hi everyone! I'm a long-time lurker, but this is my first post! ^_^

My project was made using supplies from both Home Depot and Michael's. The items I used from Home Depot cost me just under $10. They were: two feet of decorative chain, six feet of a heavy-duty decorative chain, two eye-bolts, a piece of wood (for the handle), and two "quick link" caribeeners (sp?). (For those of you wondering, the items from Michael's were a styrofoam ball, Crayola Model Magic, and acrylic paint.)

...and here it is!

Go Go Yubari's weapon! Also known as "That cool chick from Kill Bill!" ^_^ This was made to go with my Go Go costume:

Hope you like it!

That's an easy one, I think:  It looked right in the mirror.  (Right?)  Not that it matters, because I said it before the meltdown, and I'll say it again:  I'm amazed by how much you really look like her!  You did a great job with the costume.

*bows humbly in the glow of your prowess*  That girl was so kickass, what an amazing costume!  I love that you made her weapon!  I know there's a name for it, but it's escaping me right now.  Nice work. Shocked

Is the word "morningstar"?

Anyway, nice project, I can't believe the spikes are clay, they look sharp!  Makes me want to make that costume too now!

Thanks! If I made the costume again, I wouldn't use the Model Magic, though. That was NOT fun to work with. I'd probably recommend paper clay--it's lightweight, doesn't need to be baked, and is more "moldable" than the Model Magic.

About the weapon's name...I've heard a lot of different names for it...morningstar, ball-and-chain, mace...I go with ball-and-chain. That pretty much sums it up. Smiley

It is not a morning star.....

it is in the mace family...ball and chain works, somewhat, except for the whole stick part on the end! LOL

most call it a mace though....

really neat!
