This seemed weird at first, but the more I read the more it intrigued me. I'll have to get the yarn next time I'm out. I'm going to mention this to the lady at my lys as she may be able to generate more interest up here.
And this is cool because I was trying to think of a way to do some useful knitting, then I found this thread. Smiley

Hi everyone!

I found a link for a ministry that accepts worsted weight cotton bandages for all those that hate knitting with Crosheen, since its a smaller thread-like yarn.
Here is the link: Global Health Ministries - Rolled Bandage Project

Also, don't make these bandages in "fun colors" because they can't use them... the dyes in the yarn make them unacceptable for bandages, hygenic reasons. Only white or cream colored is good. I would hate for everyone to make them in bright lovely colours only to have them returned!

This is all such a great idea! I think I am going to try and whip out several of these bigger ones on the size 7-8 needles here in the next couple weeks. I've been planning on knitting chemo caps for our local kids hospital with a friend of mine. This gives me the extra bump of motivation I needed to get the jump on that to. Thanks ladies! :-)

I have been selfishly persuing my own projects as a post-Christmas gift production reward. But, I am going to start cranking them out very soon. Thanks for the impetus!  Wink Are you doing the small or larger sized bandages?

I'm thinking I may have to make the bigger ones, with the size 8 needles. My hands cramp up enough using a 10...on the smaller needles I would never finish because my hands would hurt. Tongue

I haven't started yet either...I've been a busy girl. This weekend I will go out and get the supplies I need so I can get started though.

I think it's cool that you asked for something that will enable you to make the cotton bandages (for a good cause!) in a wish swap Smiley
