i store mine in plastic bags hung from hooks for the same moth-fear reasons.  they are recycled plastic bags, natch, so there are a few ventilation holes already.  it's pounds and pounds of wool, so any rigid container solution seems to me like it would take up too much space.  i just renovated, though, and definitely have more shelves than i used to.  hmm....

i also have some cedar shingles i tuck in there sometimes.  they make my wool smell a little bit like pencils.

pounds and pounds?! i'm jealous. Cheesy

no, but seriously, do you know of a good source for wool here in the bay area? i'd love to know!

is a local dyer & spinner.  I'm pretty sure she has a day job, though, so her availability can be a little erratic.  I get all my wool from kansas, http://www.dudleyspinner.com/ she dyes it custom for me.  There is a yarn store around Noe & 18th, i forget exactly, that sells some roving but i only use hand-dyed merino, which they don't have.

Thanks for the info on suppliers; just found a local one for me in the UK!  I doubt anyone from Belgium is searching, but if so Creatine in Stockel and Waterloo have good supplies...

Two wet felting books:

_Feltmaking: Fabulous Wearables, Jewelry & Home Accents_, Chad Alice Hagen, ISBN 1-57990-252-9  Has introductory level projects and instructions for basic wet felting, includes using resists, prefelts, beads, and felting around objects. Chad Alice Hagen has some other felting books, including a book on hats.

_Feltmaking and Wool Magic_ Jorie Johnson, ISBN  1-59253-2275-6 . In English, translated from the original in Japanese (in case anyone wants the Japanese version, it must be out there somewhere - the author is fluent in English so it isn't a weird translation or anything). Includes projects for wet and nuno felting including garments, yardage, flowers, animals, fiber information, and a short history of feltmaking.

Supplies:
The Woolery http://thewoolery.com/Pages/felting.html - felting kits, fibers, needles, dyes, etc.

CreateForLess  www.createforless.c om  USA  All crafts/discount

I love this site because it has such a variety of crafting supplies (yes, roving, felting tools) including embellishments which I love to include in my felting pieces.  Prices are good, shipping reasonable, and excellent customer service...even an 800 number were a real person answers.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to order my supplies from Ebay, but I thought I'd give my search one last try.

Anyone know where to buy everything you need for felting here in good ol' halifax?

Thanks Smiley
