-make a door wreath of bottle caps

-use scissors to cut open a tin pop/beer can, remove top and bottom so you are left with a large tine saquare label, and fold the 'label' over a styrofoam ball to make an ornament

-hotglue bottlecaps 'inside to inside' with a string in the middle for hanging, and glue 'fur' or feathers or glitter around the seam to make hanging ornaments.

great for coca-cola or beer collectors!

You could also take the plastic bottle labels and wrap them around a styro ball and make an ornament. You could probably use a hair dryer on it to shrink it around the ball.

Here's a beercap wreath I made yesterday for my roommate. She's been bringing me home beer caps from work. for a while.

I used a piece of matboard for the base. The bottlecaps are strung on pipe cleaners. I punched holes in the caps using a nail and hammer. I really need to figure out a better ribbon for the top though. I only had one can so it's kinda skimpy. Ideally, I would love to use the ribbon from Pabst Blue Ribbon!

That is FANTASTIC! and the ribbon you made is great...Pabst woud be perfect, though...is that stuff even still made?
We should start a "look at my wreath' thread.

Yes, it is still made. It's like the official beer of Richmond!

And great ideas! I have a hge bag of beer bottle caps left over from a manequin I covered in bottle caps a couple years ago, and I've been waiting for things to do with them.  Cool

Also you can make them recipe books. For my mom a coca-cola drinker I went to their website and found some yummy recipes. For my Dad the beet drinker I went to webtender.com and found some cool drink mixes. I bound them with a coke box and a beer box.

I have directions somewhere for beercan butterflies.

If I can remember rightly

First cut the can so you end up with a flat piece of metal, then draw a butterfly shape.  Cut that out and shape into butterfly shape, then mount in a frame like a specimen butterfly.

If I can find the picture I'll post it.

You can also spell out words or their initials!  I spelled out NOEL with random bottlecaps, and I made a mini bottle cap tree with smirnoff winecooler caps.  The possibilities are endless, really.
