I need help coming up with an idea for a cover for my brother's ds. i've searched and all i found were girly covers that wouldn't work for him. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas or patterns i could use. I wanted to sew something for his b-day/ christmas. I also wanted to put in pockets for his games too ,so he wouldn't lose them. I'd be so thankful if anyone could help.  Grin

Hi there,

I made a felt monster pouch for my husbands ds which was super easy to make.  All I did was measure out 2 rectangles (outer and lining) for the pouch and 2 smaller rectangles for the flap over bit. I sewed the main ones up the side then at the corners to give it some depth, and did the same for the lining, then I sewed the flap, put it all together and sewed around the seam to keep it all together, added some velcro to keep the flap down, added some googly eyes and some teeth - and there you have it!

To add pockets (and he's asked me for a new one for xmas with pockets Roll Eyes) I would add some to the back before starting anything else. It just need a long strip of fabric topstitched on and sew down the middle to give slots for 2 games (or as many as you'd like).

I know this isn't the best of 'tutorials' but I can try to get some pics if you like when he gets home, or when I make the next one. I think I'm going to try and pad it properly!
